A Perfect Day In Huron

We love the time of year when our inbox begins to fill up with questions about “what to do in Huron” or “places to eat in the area” from our summer vacationers. We are so lucky to live in such a great town with so many things to do!

We are quickly booking our summer 2021 calendars and are so excited to be adding a new townhouse to our portfolio, ideally located within steps from the boat basin and walking distance to all that our great town has to offer. The townhouse is literally the perfect spot for a relaxing summer get away, featuring an entirely updated space, brand new furniture, 2 bedrooms featuring a king suite and a bunk room with a queen bed and bunk bed. But back to “things to do,” below is an itinerary of a perfect day in Huron:

Morning: For those early risers, a walk to the Huron lighthouse is the best place to catch the sunrise. You can’t forget a stop to Gathering Grounds for your morning coffee. Featuring Crimson Red coffee and the most adorable space, this is the place to go for coffee, tea or a quick snack.

Daytime Activities: Below is list of wonderful activities that can fill an hour or an afternoon:

• Kayak or SUP rental at Lake Erie Adventure Company

• Kayak tour - morning tour at Old Woman’s Creek or point to point paddle down the scenic Huron River

• Bike Rental from Lake Erie Adventure Company…explore Huron on bike for a half or full day

• Hike Old Woman’s Creek

• Beach day at Nickleplate beach

Lunch/Dinner Options:

• Harbor House for river front dining and (often) live music

• Pier Pub for great grub and can’t miss milkshakes

• Marconis or Berardis for takeout or dine in

After Dinner:

• If you didn’t get up for the sunrise, either grab a spot on the Old Fish House rooftop patio for a drink and an epic sunset or a walk to the Huron lighthouse

• Pied Piper is a “can’t miss” local spot for soft serve ice cream… just remember its cash only!
