Best Places to Paddle In Huron

Do the winter blues and quarantine have you in the dumps? Start planning your next paddle adventure for this coming spring. Our area has some of the most beautiful places to paddle. See a list below for some of our favorites!

1.) Huron River: 511 River Ave

Heading south, the Huron river features beautiful, serene waters with the chance to see ample wildlife including eagles, herons, egrets and much more. Beat the heat and catch the most beautiful sunset or sunrise! Heading north from Lake Erie Adventure Company, the paddle to the Huron lighthouse is a fun and scenic paddle. With views of charming downtown, the lighthouse and Cedar Point.

2.) Old Woman’s Creek: 2514 Cleveland Rd E, Huron, OH 44839

Old Woman Creek is, in my humble opinion, one of the biggest hidden gems in our area. The area is protected as a State Nature Preserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve and features a pristine paddling environment. The paddle is a loop and features wonderful, undistrubted habitat and promises the chance to see eagles, fish jumping from the water, turtles and other water fowl. Note paddling is permitted by permit only.

3.) Coupling Metropark: 11618 State Route 13, Milan, OH 44839

Ok, so this one isn’t technically in Huron but right on the border and totally worth a visit. This metropark is further south on the Huron river. The river is much more narrow and shallow and weaves and meanders along, making it a unique paddling experience. This is a must visit!

We are already dreaming of blue skies, flat waters and green shorlines and we can’t wait to see you out on the water in 2021! Reach out to Lake Erie Adventure Company to book your paddle today!
